Ticket & Seating Information

The Festival is operating under Covid-19 Alert Level 2 Guidelines.  Exact details will be communicated to all ticket holders approximately 48 hours prior to each performance. 


Seating, Concessions, Groups and Families

Entry to the theatre auditorium will start 30 minutes prior to each performance.  We recommend you arrive with all the people in your bubble at the same time and absolutely no later than 30 minutes prior to show start.

We will operate under Covid-19 Alert Level 2 Guidelines and admission into the venue and the auditorium will be carefully managed to adhere to all social distancing rules by well-trained venue staff.


For performances at the Opera House, previously allocated seats will now be allocated in bubbles of no more than 4 people at a time. If your bubble is bigger than 4 people we will split the group so not to exceed the 4 person limit in one block. A one metre distance between bubbles will be adhered to.

For all other venues, seating is General Admission, first-come first-served*

*With the exception of Silver.Stone.Wood.Bone, where previously allocated seats will now be allocated in bubbles and according to the Venue's Level 2 Guidelines. 

Concession & Children's Pricing

Concession prices apply to SuperGold Card holders, Community Service Card holders and fulltime students (with valid ID). Selected shows have Children’s Pricing for age 12 & under. For these shows babies under 1 may sit on a parent’s lap. Many shows have audience age recommendations, please refer to these before making a booking.

Group Bookings

For bookings of 10 tickets or more to any one performance a 10% discount is available. Group bookings for performances at the Opera House or MTG Century Theatre via Ticketek must be purchased by calling (04)384 3842. For group bookings for all other performances, the 10% discount is applied online.

Show Times & Latecomers

We recommend you arrive at the venue in plenty of time and absolutely no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the show. At Toitoi venues, food and drink is available 2 hours prior to the start of each evening performance. This will give you time to enjoy some of our great hospitality offerings and be guided to your seats in good time. All shows are now delivered without an intermission and no hospitality offering will be available after the show.

Latecomers may not be admitted unless there is a suitable break in the performance. Latecomers will NOT be able to join members of a previously admitted bubble, and will have to be seated as instructed by venue hosts.

Photos / Videos / Mobile Devices

The use of mobile phones or other photography or recording devices is not permitted during performances.  We have an official festival photographer and videographer and will post photos and updates on our Facebook page regularly.

Important Information

Tickets may be sold by a variety of ticketing agents. Booking or service fees and processing charges may apply.

Information in this programme is correct at the time of printing. The Festival reserves the right to alter without notice any events, programmes and artists. Ticket prices include GST. All sales are final and there are no refunds or exchanges, except as required by law. All ticket purchases are subject to availability and the best seats at the time of purchase.

Due to the current situation the Festival will be delivered under Covid-19 Alert Level 2 Guidelines, and implemented by the venue and Festival teams. We take the health and welfare of our visitors and teams very seriously. We will follow Ministry of Health advice on Covid-19 and encourage all our patrons to do the same.

Please do not attend a show if you are awaiting results of a Covid-19 test, are currently subject to an isolation period, or are feeling unwell. Be sure to scan in using the Covid-19 tracer app or the paper Register – we will have both QR codes and a Register available at each of the Festival venues. Masks will be mandatory when moving throughout the venues.  Should there be any need to cancel due to Alert Level changes please check our website regularly.
