Delicious European-style fare, complementing Linden Estate’s wine
The Hawke’s Bay Arts Festival is seeking friendly and enthusiastic volunteers for our 2023 season. It's our 9th year and we are back with a programme that’s packed to the brim with 45 shows, across 17 nights – circus, theatre, cabaret, music, comedy, dance, opera, ballet, visual arts and literary events.
We are a small team that does BIG things and are hugely proud of our volunteers who, in the lead up to and during the festival, are much needed to distribute our programmes, meet and greet guests, chaperone performers…and loads more.
Volunteering at the Festival is a fantastic way for anyone with an interest in arts and events to get involved with a flexible, rewarding, short-term commitment – and to meet great people. Whether you are a supporter of the arts, a student, a creative, or a lover of all things Hawke’s Bay, volunteering with the Festival has a lot to offer.
In addition to the busy days and good fun, we are happy to offer a glowing reference, and an invitation to our end of festival Volunteer party! Please see the current Volunteer roles below.
The 2023 Festival is a bumper year with 45 shows across 17 days. We are on the lookout for ‘friendly, Festival loving, people-people’ to be the face of the Festival, welcoming guests to each show. You may be helping them navigate where to buy tickets, sending them to the ushers, pointing out the bar, or directing them to the loos, etc. We will have two volunteers on each shift, with approximately 60 shifts available!
Note: A Festival Hosts briefing session will take place nearer the Festival dates.
Right now we need more recruits to join our distribution team!
Getting every single programme, flyer, and poster out to festival goers is top of our list! It's a great task for those who love their neighbourhood and like to get out in the fresh air. We provide a list of cafes, stores, restaurants in each suburb to drop off to. Each area takes approximately 2 hours to distribute programmes to. All you need is a smiling face and a pair of comfy shoes.
